Genadijus was the Director of Physiology & Director of Sport Science at USA Swimming where he tested evaluated and advised USA Swimming National Team and Olympic Team athletes and coaches before and during all major international competitions and Olympic Games between 2000 to 2008, including gold medalists and world record holders Michael Phelps, Natalie Coughlin, Dara Torres, Jenny Thompson, Ryan Lochte, Aaron Peirsol, Brendan Hansen, Ian Crocker, Katie Hoff, Kate Ziegler, Misty Hyman, Amanda Beard, Tara Kirk, Megan Quann-Jendrick, Neil Walker, Gary Hall Jr., Anthony Ervin, Ed Moses, Lenny Krayzelburg, Jason Lezak, Cullen Jones and more than 2,000 world-class swimmers between 2000 and 2008.
Genadijus also developed the testing programs and databases for USA Swimming National Team members including lactate clearance tests, land/water strength tests, swim power, biomechanical analysis and training design tests.
Genadijus has provided highly specific advice to coaches at Stanford, California Berkeley, Texas, Michigan, Florida, Southern California, Alabama, Auburn, Arizona, Arizona State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Oregon, Nevada and many other universities. He has also provided information and guidance to numerous coaches and Olympic athletes in the sports of triathlon, running, cycling, modern pentathlon, fencing and wrestling.
Genadijus has worked with United States Olympic Committee on Swim Performance equipment, supplemental oxygen training, use of altitude tents, vibration training/treatment, use of blood testing results, use of saliva testing results, use of urine testing results, training adaptation, recovery and biomechanical analysis.
Previous to his appointment at USA Swimming, Genadijus was the Dean of Coaching Faculty at the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education. He was the Scientific Advisor for swimming, modern pentathlon and track & field, as well as the Director of the Laboratory of Computerization in Sport where he optimized training strategies in swimming, running, race walking, modern pentathlon and triathlon.
Previous to his work in Lithuania, Genadijus was a Research Assistant at the Russian Academy of Physical Education (Swimming Department) where he used physiological, biochemical, and pedagogical testing programs to assess adaptation in swimming to different workloads.

Coach at the 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007 World Swimming Championships. Head coach at the 2004 World Open Water Swim Championships. Assistant coach at the 2006 and 2007 USA Swimming National Team Select Training Camps. Coach of Catalina Channel, English Channel and USA Swimming National Championship swimmers.
Open Water Swimmer
2003 inductee in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame & member of the Board of Directors. Professional marathon swimmer and 1982 World 25K Swimming Champion in Lake Windermere, U.K. Completed 5 unprecedented solo swims in Japan between 20 – 36 miles. 2001, 2005 and 2007 USA Swimming award recipient.
Open Water Swimming Writer and Commentator
NBC Olympics commentator on the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim. Reported on open water swimming for USA Swimming, FINA, Swimming World Magazine, Swimmer Magazine, Triathlon Magazine (Japanese edition), Competitor Magazine and Endurance News Network. Speaker at the 2006 World Clinic American Coaches Swimming Association World Clinic. Wrote script for the USA Swimming Open Water Swimming DVD and contributed to USA Swimming’s Coaches Quarterly and numerous newspaper and magazine articles.
